LJD has an open door policy, meaning that we allow parents to come an visit anytime they wish, we just kindly request that parents do respect the nursery routine times to avoid too much disruptions for the little ones.

We hold weekly coffee mornings and afternoons whereby parents are invited to discuss topics pertaining to children in the early years and also the nursery.

Dyvrande, the nursery eagle Mascotte has been developed into a Teddy bear that the children take home in turns. This opportunity is given to the children one by one to allow them the opportunity to share their weekends and part of their homelife with the nursery should they wish to participate.

Language

Each member of staff sticks to their own language so children know who to speak each language to.

Children develop at different paces and therefore may speak one language before another, progress equally in each language or excel in one language at a time. Either way children have the ability of learning many languages and pretty rapidly too!

At Le Jardin des Dyvrande we treat and view each child as an individual and also collectively, depending on the context. This means that we pay close attention to each child’s needs taking into account languages spoken at home, age and even whether they have siblings or not. From our observations we create activities and tasks for the children to participate in and we use these activities as opportunities to help progress them further cognitively, emotionally and physically.

It is not a requirement for a child to have a French speaking parent to attend or even to expect great results. However, the more frequently a child is exposed to the language will have a direct positive impact on their understanding and their vocabulary.

Fresh Food Supplied by Abel and Cole

Le Jardin des Dyvrande is teaming up with Abel and Cole, who will be supplying our kitchen weekly with fresh, organic and seasonal ingredients. We believe that only the best quality, sustainable food is good enough for our children. We also believe that producers should receive a fair price for their produce. Register For a Place at LJD Nursery

In order to secure a nursery place at our nursery we advise interested parents to come make contact in order to express:

● The desired start date

● The age of the child

● A viewing will then be arranged dependent on availability, during this time you will be shown around the nursery. At this stage, there will be an informative guided tour and opportunities to ask any questions and meeting with the staff will be possible

● According to availability, a nursery place will be offered and parents have the opportunity to secure this by paying a fee to reserve the place.

● The nursery start date is negotiated and nursery place is confirmed upon payment.

● A settling in period takes place, whereby, the new child attends with their parents as a ‘safe base’ for a few hours at a time and this is gradually done without the parents to allow them time to settle into the nursery.

● The child then starts at the nursery
